Meet the Founder
Vesal Yaghoobi, MD
I’m Vesal Yaghoobi, the founder of Soup & Story.
I created Soup & Story around a simple belief: convenience shouldn’t mean giving up the things that make food feel special. A quick meal can still be thoughtfully made, full of character, and genuinely comforting.
What started in my own kitchen has grown into a Connecticut-based artisan soup company built around distinctive flavors, carefully chosen ingredients, and a format designed to make a good bowl of soup easy to enjoy whenever you need one.
For me, Soup & Story is about more than soup. It’s about creating something with care and making everyday moments feel a little warmer.
Gourmet Soup, Ready in Minutes
We make gourmet soups with distinctive flavors, thoughtfully selected ingredients, and the kind of comforting character you expect from something made in a kitchen—not something designed simply to sit on a shelf.
We also wanted to rethink how soup could be stored and prepared.
Our soups are frozen in a concentrated, single-portion format. Add water, heat, and in about three minutes, you have a hot bowl of soup ready to enjoy.
- No large container to finish.
- No pot of soup to prepare.
- No planning ahead.
Just one portion, whenever you want it.
Why Frozen?
We believe convenience shouldn’t mean giving up the qualities that make food worth eating.
Freezing allows our soups to stay ready in your freezer until the moment you need them. And because they’re concentrated, each portion takes up less space while still becoming a satisfying bowl once prepared.
It’s our answer to a simple question: How do you make genuinely good soup fit into real life?
Made for Real Life
Soup & Story is for the busy workday, the late evening, the parent trying to get dinner on the table, the person who simply doesn’t feel like cooking, or anyone who wants a really good bowl of soup without making an entire pot.
Our menu moves between comforting classics and more distinctive flavors—from red lentil and creamy vegetables to mushroom, seafood, and seasonal creations.
Every recipe starts with the same goal:
Make it delicious. Make it convenient. Make it something we’d be happy to serve to someone we care about.
Every Bowl Has a Story
Soup & Story started with mine, but the idea was never meant to end there.
Food has a way of becoming part of the moments we remember—the meal someone brought when we weren’t feeling well, dinner squeezed into a busy evening, a flavor that reminds us of home, or simply something warm on a cold day.
Those moments are the reason for the name Soup & Story.
Every bowl has a story. We’re glad to be part of yours.
